Prescription Advantage

What is it?
An insurance plan that helps pay for prescription medications.

Who’s eligible?
All Massachusetts residents aged 65 and older are eligible.  Some younger residents who are disabled and meet income guidelines may also be eligible.

What areas does Bristol serve?
Greater Attleboro, Greater Fall River and Greater Taunton.

Is there a cost?
Yes.  Monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and drug co-payments are based on gross annual household income.  Some enrollees with low incomes will have no premiums or deductibles.  All enrollees pay co-payments.

SHINE
  
What is it?
SHINE stands for “Serving Health Information Needs of Elders.”  SHINE counselors help consumers understand their Medicare benefits and other health insurance options.  Counselors review present coverage, provide written comparisons of plans and help consumers avoid paying for unnecessary duplicate coverage.  Counselors also help with completing claim forms and applications.

Massachusetts residents who are aged 65 or older and younger residents who are Medicare beneficiaries.

What areas does Bristol serve?
Greater Attleboro, Greater Fall River and Greater Taunton.

Is there a cost?
No.
