Legal Services Seniors Law Project What is it? Free legal assistance to elders with questions or problems in the following matters: Public Benefits (Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, SNAP); Housing (Landlord/tenant problems in private and public housing); Health (MassHealth, Medicare, private insurance, and institutional care); Document Preparation (Powers of attorney, emergency wills).
Who’s eligible? Individuals aged 60 or older. Preference is given to low-income individuals.
What areas are served? Greater Attleboro, Greater Fall River and Greater Taunton.
Is there a cost? No. However, a donation is requested. Some cases are referred to private attorneys who may do work pro bono (no fee) or for a fee.

What if I can’t get to the office? Services are provided through legal clinics held periodically at Councils on Aging, and senior centers. Home visits are also arranged, when necessary.
