Nursing Unit Clerk $19.25/hr.
The successful candidate will possess clerical experience as well as customer service experience, to relate to consumers of all different personalities and medical professionals at hospitals, certified home health agencies and physician’s offices. The Nursing Unit Clerk works closely with the Clinical Assessment Evaluation (CAE) Program Assistant and the registered nurses. The Nursing Unit Clerk will conduct daily activities related to home care services such as receiving and processing MassHealth screening requests and agency screen requests in compliance with MassHealth, Elder Affairs, and agency guidelines. The Nursing Unit Clerk enters data, tracks workloads, acts as a resource and assists with supporting the nursing unit. The Nursing Unit Clerk carries out a variety of office support tasks such as mailings, preparing documents, entering consumer information into the electronic medical record, completing and maintaining reports and spreadsheets as well as responding to telephone and email inquires for the nursing team. The Nursing Unit Clerk is also responsible for tracking care plans and following up with Vendors to obtain current care plans.
High school diploma or equivalent, and strong clerical experience with a hospital, nursing home, home health provided or related organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong computer skills and organizational and time management skills a must. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high volume environment. 35-hour work week, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fluency in English and Portuguese or English and Spanish preferred.
