Bristol Elder Services, Inc., located in Fall River, MA, is a progressive, private, non-profit agency that supports the independence and dignity of elders in the community. The Protective Services Worker investigates reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of elders, assesses risk, provides support and referral to prevent, remedy, or eliminate the effects of abuse or neglect of an elder. Responsibilities include:
- ability to build trust and rapport with the client,
- conducting timely assessments,
- ability to assess risk and develop service plans to alleviate risk,
- monitoring ongoing risk and efficacy of service plans; and
- collaborating with agency staff and external providers.
Requires home visits, knowledge of community resources, ability to work with professionals and families, and documentation in client records within mandated timeframes.
This position requires either a bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology or related field plus at least two years’ experience in counseling, casework, or case management providing protective or crisis intervention services, or a master’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology or related field plus at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, or case management, preferably in a protective services or crisis intervention capacity. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Bilingual English and Portuguese preferred.
