This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for the implementation, oversight, and administration of the agency’s financial activities; is responsible for compliance, monitoring, and ensures progress toward the accomplishment of established goals, objectives, and action steps.
The Senior Accountant provides leadership to the Finance department, assists the CFO in the overall operation of the department, ensures that accounting functions follow standardized practices, procedures, and best practices, and ensures the integrity of the agency’s accounting system.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years’ experience in general accounting required. Supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency in ADP functionality and reporting; working knowledge of federal and state laws, and regulations applicable to payroll; knowledge of Abila MIP or similar accounting software system; familiarity with nonprofit or government accounting preferred. Must have strong computer skills, including advanced Excel capabilities. Must be able to work independently and to prioritize, to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high volume environment, have proven organizational and time management skills, and good oral communication skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
