Nutrition Program

Popularly known as “Meals on Wheels”, Bristol’s Nutrition Program offers a well-balanced meal each weekday.

Lunchtime meals are offered to people age 60 years or older. Meals are served in community centers or delivered to your home based on your mobility and ability to prepare meals. An in-home assessment by one of our case managers determines whether you qualify for the Meals on Wheels program.

Meals are planned by a nutritionist and are prepared by a professional caterer. They are designed to provide at least 1/3 of the recommended daily nutritional requirements for older adults. We offer modified meals for people with diabetes. Pureed, renal and cardiac meals are available.

We ask for a small donation per meal to help us pay for the program. But, we never deny anyone a meal if they can’t afford to donate.

Individual nutrition counseling is available for Bristol clients.
